January 2017

There were fewer members than usual today, perhaps because it was the weekend before Up Helly Aa.  However everyone took the opportunity to catch up on unfinished work and to use the club resources.

There was some discussion about the 2017 programme and a list of suggestions was drawn up which will be discussed at the AGM on 25 February.  Further suggestions can be forwarded to committee members or put forward at the AGM.  Members should note that this meeting will continue into the afternoon as lunch will be organised.

November meeting

There were a few members missing this month but those who attended enjoyed creating a layout using the papers and embellishments they had received last month in a lucky dip.  Everyone agreed it was challenging but good to try something outside their comfort zone.

Members should note there will be no meeting in December.  The next meeting will be on Saturday 28 January 2017!

October layouts

Here are the layouts members did at the October meeting - the theme was to use a song or a poem in the layout.

October meeting

The theme for the October meeting was to use a poem or a song in the layout.  This meeting was taken by Sonia who had provided two lovely poems - The Clock of Life and Rhoda Bulter's Shetlandic.  The Shetland ForWirds website has lots of Shetland poetry if you want to use another Shetland poem for a layout.

Not as many members as usual but we managed to spread out and use all the available space!

Here are the two layouts Sonia made using the poems - note the map of Shetland.

Members should note that the November meeting is the "lucky dip" one where you do a layout using the papers you got in your "lucky bag".  If you missed the October meeting you could either swap with a friend or do your own project at the next meeting.

September meeting

This month's session was based on the CSI blog and members were asked to use the following case file as inspiration for their layouts.  The CSI blog provides great ideas for scrapbooking layouts and there are lots of layouts in the gallery - well worth a look!

This following are the layouts created by members using the CSI case file.
